At Solsnu 2018 we took the stage at Rock In for the first time. We've never felt so welcome before an audience as we did that night, and now we're back! On October 30th we release the debut album that we've been working on since before we had a hair on our chins, until we were all greying at the temples. It's been a journey, and now we can finally share the music with the world!

Elvarhøi plays hard-hitting folk metal with exclusively Norwegian lyrics, and the debut album is a journey through doubt, determi­nation, dispos­ession and ultimately death and defeat.

The title "Dansen låter fra graven åter"is a line from one of the songs in which the fiddler must die after having caused too much senseless revelry. And when the tune keeps playing from beyond the grave, that's when the party finally kicks into the magical sixth gear!

Buckle your bullet belt and dancing shoes; it's party time!

MYRMALM
Myrmalm is an experimental project consisting of performance artist Monica Winther, and artists and multi-instrumentalists Kenneth Lien and Magnus Vanebo. Together they are Myrmalm. With a crossover between folk music, black metal, electronica and primordial vocals, they present an experience that is both unique, brutal and primal.

Is despair creeping up on you after weeks of living in darkness? Is misanthropy setting on as you see the city gearing up for Christmas? Is the unease and restlessness caused by urban confinement about to burst your heathen heart?

Fear not! On this winter solstice we will turn your frown upside down! Together with norsefolkers Byrdi, and harpist Giulia Wyrd-Svartskog, we will praise the old ways, sing, dance, drink and make merry. Come join us on the darkest hours of 2018 for a night that will mark you for life. Or at least until the hangover passes.

We're honoured to join in the celebration of Glittertinds latest album in Oslo on the 12th of January!

Glittertind has been one of the most prominent names in norwegian folk rock/metal since the early 2000's, and our music wouldn't be the same without them. We had a great time sharing the stage with them in 2010, and we're sure this time will be just as memorable.

Also joining the party are hallingrockers Blodsmak, who play heavy hitting metal with strong folk vibes. Looking forward to sharing the stage and having some beers with them as well!

On the 4th of March we're hitting the stage again, this time to battle for a gig at Wacken!

Elvarhøi was awarded 2nd place by popular vote during the Emergenza Festival 4th semifinal at John Dee. This means that we are through to the next gig which is the norwegian final at Rockefeller Music Hall on the 23rd of May.

We wish to extend our thanks to all who showed up and supported us. Without you this would not be possible.

We are now in the process of selecting new material for the performence at Rockefeller in May and we can guarantee that it will be a concert you do not want to miss.

Dear strangers from distant lands and friends of old! On the 20th of March, Elvarhøi will be guesting Sub Scene for our first 2009 concert. This fabulously cozy club is located right in the center of Oslo, and we can promise you a gig more powerful than ever. If you've never seen us live before, this is the time to do so, and if you have, you're in for a lot of surprises. We'll be on at 20:00 sharp, no delay, since we don't like to keep you waiting. We're really looking forward to seeing you there!

The tickets sell for 90 kr at the door, but give one of us a holler and we can supply them for as low as 70!

The road:Walking down Karl Johan Street (that's from the King's castle and towards Oslo S) look out for a church on your left hand. When you see the church, take a right-hand turn. Now you're in the right street (Kirkegata). On the left side of the street there shall be a sign (with a face-like logo and the text "Sub Scene") at the entrance into a back-yard. That's where the club is. Hope you'll find it!
